LOCATIONS

Our location is going to be a Pub. We are looking at the Three Horse Shoes in Letchmore Heath.
We need to sort it out first with the owner of the pub.
All the scenes are in the Pub from scene 1 to 5. And then it continuous outside or near the pub.
We are going to use this location during the night, because it creates tension.

FINAL Storyboard

 FINAL Storyboard

We did then a final storyboard with proper drawings and good explanations for each shot. It visually tells the story of the animation panel by panel, kind of like a comic book.It tells something about what characters are in the frame, and how are they moving, what are the characters doing, where the “camera” is in the scene – close or far away. Creating a storyboard helped me to plan our animation out shot by shot. And: a storyboard is very helpful to get feedback. Between all the different shots will be a black screen withg the titles on it or not, we are not sure about this yet. And the different shots are not just shots which are focused on a single prop or scene, there will camera movement in these shots, as well. So the Storyboard just shows an overview about the different shots and not the exactlly movement and position of the camera. So this just helps the audience to imagne the rough plot. We will change the different shots and movements during the time we film the thriller, because we are maybe not able to do one or two sghots or we might have better idea. All of the shots will take place between 5 - 10pm at night or in the late evening.

This is our test video with Jack G, Duncan Q and Tom R. We did this before the whole blog to learn all the skills for editing and cutting. Actors are Tom and myself.

This is the unrefined Version of the Video:

We did this on a afternoon to get used to the camera, teamwork with the other media studies students, software, cutting and editing.

ORDER OF TITLE`s

Order of the titles in the opening scene. This helps us to create the right order for our own thriller.
So, I analyzed the opening scene of signs.

1) 0:03sec - Label that presents the film
2) 0: 10sec - Business that Produced the film
3) 0:17sec - The first actor is shown, who is the main actor
4) 0:23sec - The second actor is shown
5) 0:29sec - The name of the film
6) until her - 0:44sec - other actors
7) 0:45sec - casting by..
8) 0:51sec - Music by
9) 0:59sec - Visual effects Supervision
10) 1:04sec - Costume Designer
11) 1:10sec - Edited by
12) 1:15sec - Production Designer
13) 1:20sec - Director of Photography
14) 1:25sec - Executive Producer
15) 1:30sec - Produced by person X and Y
16) 1:35sec - written, produced and directed by..

I recognized that between most of the titles have a gap of 5sec between each others.

This relies to my first point.

Idea

with Marcel Lex

My Ideas of my Thriller

My first ideas of my thriller were that i want to do a thriller, which is placed in between the subgenre Action and Horror. So on one hand it has to deal with powerfull and quick action and on the other hand it should be suspensfull with scary sound and darker colours.
Therefore i thought about a scene, happening in the evening, because it should be dark. Furthermore there is a victim, which is being chased, maybe through the forest or dark streets in a city. The victim might be male or female and it is on his way back home from work. So firstly you see the victim leaves the work, then it recognises that it is followed by someone, but does not react. After a while then it will notice that he is still behind her and starts to react in form of walking faster until she does actually run. Then there a close-up on the "killer", but not his face, only maybe his hand, where he holds a knife or something else. Then the action begins, maybe a run scene through the city or the forest. While that action, there must be an increase of tension, so therefore it should be in a dark environment and the camera should not really focus the exact action. It should rather switch every half a second between the killer and his knife, the victim and maybe teh facial expression of the vivtim, but just maybe. While the whole scene, the sound is very important. It should make the audience feel scared or not safe. So therefore you will hear the victim breathing and the definately running of the two people, like you hear the sound of their jackets when they run. Also maybe some traffic sounds at the background.
